- Improving your overall audio quality

Among many other great features, it's nice to know that the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 is being used by beginners and professionals. This means that there is a lot of info and tips for you to discover online.
How Does it Work?
The Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen is really simple to use. It's pretty much plug and play, although you will need to install the recording software to be able to use it. Getting this USB audio interface is the perfect way to bring your podcasting and audio recording projects to have that "studio quality" sound you've always wanted. What Will I Need?
- An XLR cable, or two; if you are using this for podcasting with another guest
- An XLR microphone, or two; for the same reason above.
Note: An XLR cable is a professional audio cable that transmits a high-quality audio signal. These are used in high-quality studio recordings and simply relay your recording device (i.e. microphone) to your audio interface. We recommend the Digiflex NXX-25.
Keep in mind that although the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen provides great sound quality your choice of cable and microphone will play a big role as well.

Are There Any Downsides?
Although we are huge fans of this USB audio interface, we wouldn't be giving you a full review if we didn't cover the cons. After all, no piece of audio equipment is perfect.
One thing we noticed is that even when recording one single audio input at a time, having the gain up on the second input (even though nothing is plugged in) can cause some added hissing in your recording. It's as though the input itself is in record mode even though nothing is plugged in. We recommend keeping the recording volume fully off when recording one single microphone or device at a time.
Is The Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 A Buy?
In our opinion, the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 is a great, solid piece of audio recording equipment - but do you really need one?
Well, if you current setup meets your needs and offers you the sound quality you're looking for, then no, but if you're looking to upgrade to a reliable, easy-to-use, studio quality sounding audio interfacem then we recommend this one for sure. It's no surprise that this USB audio interface is one of the most popular options on the market.
